The episode opens with Dadabhai asking Jhanak about her family.
She replies that she lived with her mother and grandmother. Indumati questions how Nutan could send Jhanak alone when she is her only child. Jhanak calmly says that everyone comes into this world alone and assures them that they need not worry—she’s ready to handle all the household chores. Payal asks if Jhanak can really stay away from her mother. Jhanak says she will manage.
Indumati then questions if Jhanak’s father had any objections. Tanushree asks if her father is still alive. Jhanak says she has never seen her father—he left before she was born. Indumati brushes the topic aside and tells her to concentrate on work. Tanushree reminds her that many people live in the house, and Jhanak must work for all of them. Jhanak agrees, saying she came there only to work.
Payal comments that Jhanak is very brave to deal with someone like Rishi, who is known for his temper. Jhanak then spins a fake story to support her situation. Dadabhai wonders how Nutan could send an unmarried girl to the city for work, especially when girls in the village are usually married off young. Rishi overhears this and realizes his family can’t handle the actual truth. He decides to talk to Aditi first.
As he leaves, he tells Tanushree he’s going out. She says he made the right decision by bringing Jhanak home. Rishi corrects her, saying Jhanak came there against his will. He instructs Jhanak to focus on her work and then leaves.
At a restaurant, Aditi reflects on how Rishi’s absence made her realize his importance.
When he arrives, she hugs him. Rishi silently recalls their marriage. Aditi assumes he didn’t answer her calls because of an injury. Rishi struggles internally, wondering how to tell her the truth. Aditi notices something is troubling him and asks him about it. Before he can speak, she guesses that he wants to tell her about his mission. She tells a story—Smita’s cousin went to a village, fell in love with a girl, and married her. Rishi asks what happened next. Aditi says they settled in Delhi. She admits that for a moment, she feared something similar happened with him.
Rishi thinks this is the first time he’s hiding something from Aditi but believes he’ll reveal it someday. Aditi assures him that she trusts him completely and knows no one else will ever come into his life.
Back at home, Jhanak feels sleepy while washing utensils and eventually dozes off.
Meanwhile, Dadabhai tells Indumati that he’s hungry. Abhimanyu informs them he hired a cook, but Dadabhai questions the need for one since they already have a maid. Indumati replies that they don’t yet know if Jhanak can cook, so both a maid and cook are necessary. She adds that the food is ready.
Tanushree heads to the kitchen and finds Jhanak asleep. She gently wakes her up and tells her to eat and rest. Then she takes her to the hall and informs everyone that Jhanak fell asleep in the kitchen. Embarrassed, Jhanak says she’s scared of being punished. Dadabhai says she certainly will be. Indumati declares that her punishment will be to serve the family and also clean the kitchen.
In the village, Sakhi brings Prakash to Nutan.
Nutan tells him about Jhanak’s forced marriage. Prakash, deeply in love with Jhanak, silently reflects that fate has taken her far from him. Nutan asks if he knows where Parashar is. Prakash, who sees Parashar as a father figure, admits he knows but refuses to disclose the location. Sakhi urges him to inform Parashar about Jhanak. Prakash assures Nutan not to worry and leaves.
Later, Ishani calls Nutan and informs her about Jeet’s return.
Nutan is shocked and asks how Jeet could do such a thing. Ishani says Shashvat threw her out because of Jeet’s lies and even Ambika hates her now. She requests Nutan’s help in finding a job. Nutan tells her everything in her life has changed and reveals Jhanak’s marriage. Ishani says she’ll find Jhanak in Kolkata, calling her like a daughter. Nutan promises to share Jhanak’s address once she finds it and reassures Ishani of her support.
Ishani feels relieved. Just then, Ambika arrives and scolds her. She tells Ishani to compromise with Shashvat, but Ishani refuses.
