The episode opens with Mangal asking Kusum if she spoke to Adit. Kusum replies curtly, “What is there to discuss? I’m busy arranging Sudesh’s medicines. Whatever needs to be said can wait.” Just then, Akshat calls Mangal outside.
Stepping out, Mangal sees Akshat happily unwrapping a video game. She smiles, pleased to see his excitement. Ishana joins them and reveals she also received a gift—a bracelet. Delighted, she exclaims, “Wow!” and asks Mangal if she arranged the presents. Mangal shakes her head. Ishana assumes they’re from their father and begins to wear the bracelet, but Akshat reads the attached card aloud—the gifts are from Kapil. The smile vanishes from Ishana’s face. Upset, she asks, “Why would Kapil send us gifts?” Mangal says she has no idea. Ishana tells Akshat not to open anything else and demands an explanation from Mangal about the expensive gifts.
At that moment, Kusum enters and questions Mangal about the gifts as well. Mangal repeats that she doesn’t know anything. Ishana presses further, saying, “He’s your friend—he must have said something.” Mangal insists he didn’t. Frustrated, Ishana throws the bracelet aside and storms off. Akshat follows her, trying to console her.
Kusum again confronts Mangal, who says she’ll call Kapil right away and ask. But just as she’s about to dial, Adit snatches the phone from her hand. Shocked, Mangal asks why he did that. Adit confronts her angrily: “Why did Kapil send my children such costly gifts?” Mangal again says she doesn’t know. Adit accuses her of lying and says, “I was wrong about you—Sowmya was right.”
Kusum, confused, asks what’s going on. Adit declares, “Mangal has started lying to us.” Mangal tries to defend herself, but Adit pulls out an invitation card. “What’s this then?” he demands, reading aloud: Kapil and Mangal’s Engagement Ceremony. Disgusted, he throws the card away.
Stunned, Mangal asks how he got the card. Adit says everyone knows now and accuses her of betraying Kusum and Sudesh, who treated her like their own daughter. Kusum, heartbroken, says through tears, “Mangal can never remarry.” She reads the card and, recalling earlier clues, realizes the girl Pratima had in mind for Kapil was Mangal all along. Devastated, she collapses onto the sofa.
Mangal tries to approach her, but Adit blocks her. “Enough of this fake concern!” he shouts. “You’re set to marry in a month or two!” In the background, Sowmya watches with quiet satisfaction—her plan has worked. Mangal is confused—she had told Kusum everything. She doesn’t yet realize Sowmya misled her.
Adit continues to attack Mangal’s character. She tries to explain, “I told Amma everything.” But Kusum says, “Stop lying. When did you tell me?” Mangal replies, “Last night.” Kusum corrects her, “I was at the jagrata last night!” Mangal then recalls, “You applied tika to me—I thought it was your blessing.” Kusum explains, “Sowmya told me to do that because you were taking care of Sudesh Ji.”
Now furious, Adit says, “You agreed to marry Kapil even after becoming a mother of two? You always said you couldn’t live without the kids. Liar!” Mangal snaps back, “You have no right to question me—only Kusum does.”
Turning to Kusum, Mangal says, “I agreed to marry Kapil because my mother refused to undergo surgery unless I said yes. I did it to save her life.” Kusum asks, “Would you have done the same if it were me?” Mangal replies, “Yes, I would.” Kusum then pleads, “Then don’t marry Kapil.” Mangal hesitates, “But my mother—” Kusum cuts her off, “I’ve heard enough. From now on, we have no relationship.”
Crushed, Mangal says, “You and Sudesh are like parents to me. I would never betray you.” But Kusum coldly replies, “You’ve changed. You broke my trust. Go live your life—I won’t stop you anymore.” Mangal, overwhelmed, says, “I can’t marry without your blessing.” Kusum walks away in silence.
Adit, bitter and angry, turns to her and asks, “Since when have you been in love with Kapil?” Mangal glares at him, burning with anger.
