The episode begins with Lakshmi persuading Karthik’s family to attend Jia’s funeral. After some hesitation, they agree and accompany her to the ceremony. Unnoticed, Lakshmi quietly collects a portion of Jia’s ashes. She tells Prema that they are only attending the funeral out of basic humanity. Prema remarks coldly that Karthik will be punished in court the next day. Gayatri, overhearing this, becomes visibly upset.
Later, Lakshmi takes the ashes to a doctor, asking him to verify if they actually belong to Jia. The doctor, who happens to be a fan of Karthik because of his daughter, agrees to help. He tells Lakshmi that he’ll need a personal item to run a DNA match. Lakshmi hands over Jia’s hairbrush for testing.
Meanwhile, at the jail, a police officer tells Karthik that he’ll be taken to court but will eventually die in the same prison. Karthik, however, remains hopeful—trusting that Lakshmi will find a way to save him. Lakshmi prays fervently for a miracle. Soon after, the doctor calls and tells her that the test will take some time. Lakshmi urges him to speed up the process before the court session ends.
At the courthouse, the media questions Prema about her expectations. She declares that she wants Karthik to receive the death penalty and adds that she will not immerse Jia’s ashes until justice is served.
Karthik arrives at the court. Lakshmi sees him and calls out his name. They share an emotional moment before he is escorted inside by the police.
Inside, the court staff calls for Karthik’s lawyer. Umesh tries repeatedly to contact him, but the lawyer remains unreachable. Just then, Lakshmi receives a call from the doctor. Since mobile phones aren’t allowed in court, she steps outside to answer.
The doctor confirms her suspicion—the ashes are not human, but animal remains. Shocked, Lakshmi pleads with him to testify in court. The doctor agrees and immediately heads there.
Lakshmi returns to the courtroom and asks if the lawyer has arrived. Umesh informs her that the lawyer is still missing. The judge then questions if the defense has any legal representation. The public prosecutor criticizes Karthik’s family for wasting the court’s time and insists the case is clear-cut: Karthik murdered Jia, and there are multiple witnesses to support the claim.
Lakshmi begs the judge for a little more time to arrange for a lawyer. The judge grants a break until after lunch but warns that if no lawyer is present by then, he will deliver the verdict.
Sudesh grows increasingly anxious about the missing lawyer. Gayatri reflects on a similar situation from the past. Meanwhile, Prema smirks, confident that no lawyer will take the case due to her threats.
Worried, Lakshmi wonders what will happen if they fail to find legal support. Prema approaches her and cruelly suggests she remove her sindoor, claiming Karthik will be sentenced to death today. As she tries to wipe it off, Lakshmi stops her and fiercely declares that Karthik will win. Gayatri watches silently and walks away.
