The episode begins with Karan losing his temper at Lakshmi for accidentally breaking his speaker. Lakshmi apologizes and offers to have it repaired, asking him to deduct the cost from her salary over the next few months. Karan scolds her to stay within her limits and orders her to meet him in his office.
In the office, Lakshmi tells Karan she knows a skilled technician who can repair his speaker. Karan mocks her, saying, “This speaker came from Canada. It’s a limited edition—you couldn’t even afford it.” Lakshmi firmly replies, “Don’t talk about my auqat. You can deduct even my entire year’s salary if you want.” She turns to leave but realizes the door is locked and asks him to open it. Karan harshly rebukes her.
He then orders her to work harder to repay the cost of his music system and dismisses her from his office.
Meanwhile, Gayatri worries about Karthik and says emotionally, “Where are you, Karthik? We miss you so much.” She calls him, and Karthik answers. Gayatri pleads, “Please come home. Don’t punish us for Lakshmi’s mistake. Forget her and return.” Karthik coldly replies, “I’ve already forgotten her.” Gayatri tells him his father’s health is worsening and begs him to come back. After a pause, Karthik agrees.
Back at the office, Shankar brings tea for Lakshmi and asks why she’s still working when everyone else is at the party. Lakshmi assures him she’s fine and sends him away. Later, realizing it’s quite late, she leaves for home. When she can’t find an auto, she begins walking. A group of men start harassing her, forcing her to run. Suddenly, a car stops beside her, and someone pulls her inside—it’s Karan. He says, “I saved you again. What were you doing out so late?” Lakshmi answers, “I was working overtime to repay your debt, and you decide to act like a kidnapper while helping me?” Irritated, Karan tells the driver to stop the car and orders her to get out. Lakshmi calmly says she can manage and walks away.
The next morning, Lakshmi prepares for Karwa Chauth and applies sindoor, reminiscing about her moments with Karthik. Looking at his photo, she prays for his long life. When Swathi enters, Lakshmi quickly hides the sindoor with her hair. She observes the fast silently for Karthik. Meanwhile, Karthik tells Sudesh he’s returning home and plans to take his father to Chandigarh for treatment. On seeing a man lovingly put flowers in his wife’s hair, Karthik is reminded of Lakshmi’s betrayal and closes the door in pain.
Later, Lakshmi reaches the office and learns from Shankar that Karan is holding auditions for singers and lyricists. Disappointed by the participants, Karan watches as one nervous contestant struggles. Lakshmi encourages the girl and helps her finish the lyrics. Karan observes this silently through the mirror. The contestant thanks Lakshmi for her support. Moments later, Karan steps out and calls Lakshmi to his cabin.
