The episode begins with Karan warning Lakshmi not to interfere in others’ work. Lakshmi explains that she was only trying to help because the person seemed stressed about her lyrics. Karan insists that he wants only the best talent in his music company and despises those who depend on others. He adds sarcastically that Lakshmi must have no real work and assigns her a petty task — counting the design elements on a saree, like mirrors and patterns. Lakshmi says it’s a tough job, but Karan replies coldly, “If it’s tough, then you can resign.”
Later, while Karan is on a call discussing an upcoming event, Lakshmi walks in and informs him that she’s completed the task. Karan mocks her, asking if she’s just making up numbers to fool him. Lakshmi calmly says, “It’s 10,003. If you don’t believe me, you can count them yourself,” and walks away. She thinks that since he never understands polite words, this is the best way to handle him.
Outside, a flower seller asks Lakshmi to buy some flowers. The sight reminds her of Karthik, especially since it’s Karwa Chauth. Meanwhile, Karthik arrives at Chandigarh airport — near Lakshmi — but they miss seeing each other. Fans rush to take selfies with a famous singer, crossing paths with Karthik. The flower seller says, “A famous singer is here; I’ll go take a photo with him. Tell me which flowers you want.” Lakshmi turns, only to realize it’s not Karthik. At the same time, Karthik feels low, missing his fame and fans. Lakshmi quietly buys roses and walks away as Hamari Adhoori Kahani plays in the background.
Mangal Lakshmi: Karan’s Anger Turns to Shock Seeing Lakshmi at His Home
Karthik gets a call from his organiser, who tells him about performing at a Karwa Chauth party. Surprised, he asks why. The organiser explains that since his family business is in trouble and he’s no longer getting big shows, such events could help him regain visibility. Karthik reluctantly agrees.
Back home, Karan storms in angrily and throws his jacket, accidentally breaking a vase near Dadi’s feet. He immediately rushes to check on her. Dadi assures him she’s fine and asks what’s bothering him. Karan says someone at the office annoyed him but avoids giving a name. Just as he’s about to reveal it, he’s stunned to see Lakshmi entering. Dadi greets her warmly, saying, “Lakshmi once saved my life. She also works in our company now.” Lakshmi hands Dadi some flowers she brought for her. Dadi praises her kindness and calls her a friend. When Lakshmi asks if Dadi needed something, Dadi says yes and goes inside.
Karan glares at Lakshmi and calls her an opportunist before walking away. Dadi then gives Lakshmi the address of the Gupta house — the same venue where Karthik is supposed to perform — and asks her to deliver a Panch Dhatu idol to her friend there. Lakshmi agrees and sets out.
On her way, some ladies approach Dadi, saying they got mehendi from the Shiv temple, and whoever applies it will share a beautiful bond with her husband. As Lakshmi is about to leave, she slips, and the bowl of mehendi spills onto her hand. Everyone sees it as a divine sign that she’s destined to have a loving husband. Lakshmi silently remembers Karthik.
Meanwhile, Karthik arrives at the venue. When a man rudely tells him to just sing and leave, Karthik controls his temper and agrees to perform. As Lakshmi delivers the idol to Mrs. Murthy, she suddenly hears Karthik’s voice. She stops, stunned, feeling deep down that he’s nearby.
