The episode begins with Indumati asking Dritimaan why he left them. Dritimaan replies that they will understand him once they hear his side of the story. Dadabhai scolds Dritimaan, saying he failed in his duties as a son and abandoned Sanjhbati, who still loves him and hasn’t married anyone else. He calls Dritimaan selfish and asks why he returned after so many years. Neelu urges Dadabhai to give Dritimaan a chance to explain.
Putul tells Dritimaan how their lives changed after he left. Dritimaan responds that perhaps they will understand him once they know the truth. Rishi questions why Dritimaan brought Sanjhbati inside. Dritimaan says Sanjhbati is also part of his family. Sanjhbati tells him to stop pretending, while Jhanak asks her to listen to what Dritimaan has to say.
Mishti instructs the servants to go to the guest room to attend to the guests, and they leave. She wonders why Jhanak hasn’t left, and Rishi tells her to stop worrying about it. Arshi asks Jhanak why she isn’t leaving, but Aditi reassures her, explaining that everyone is emotional due to Dritimaan’s return. She tells Jhanak she can stay if she wants, as she is like family. Aniruddh criticizes Aditi for giving Jhanak unnecessary importance.
Rishi introduces Aditi and her family to Dritimaan, followed by Jhanak. Dritimaan asks why Aditi’s family questioned him. Arshi explains that they are high-class, unlike his own family, and everyone wants to know about him because he is Aditi’s brother-in-law. Dritimaan remarks on the irony of people being curious about an in-law.
Surjeet urges Dritimaan to move past that and explain why he stopped contacting them. Abhimanyu says he should have shared everything with his family, and Tanushri mentions that they didn’t get answers to any questions. Dritimaan admits he knows they suffered because of him and apologizes to Sanjhbati for hurting her, acknowledging that he ruined her life. He gives her his medical report.
Sanjhbati, shocked, asks what it is and cries. Dritimaan reassures her it’s an old report and that he is fine now. She questions why he didn’t reveal it earlier and wonders if he feared she would leave him. Dritimaan explains that he was unsure if he would survive and could never ruin her life when he loved her.
Rishi asks about the disease, and Sanjhbati says it is incurable. Indumati questions whether Dritimaan came to see them one last time. Jhanak reassures her that he is fine now, and Dritimaan confirms it. He explains that he left to avoid being selfish and asks Sanjhbati for another chance, expressing his wish to marry her. Everyone rejoices at the news.
Rishi remarks that the marriage will happen, while Jhanak says God has restored Sanjhbati’s happiness. Dadabhai comments on Jhanak’s luck in living in their house. Dritimaan asks about Jhanak, and Putul explains that she is studying at medical college and stays there due to lack of accommodation. Dritimaan appreciates her maturity, while Arshi and Neelu caution him that there’s more to know about her. Neelu reveals that Jhanak forced Rishi into marriage with her villagers’ support, but Sanjhbati tells Dritimaan she will explain later.
Indumati cries, asking why he didn’t tell them anything, and Dritimaan comforts her. Sanjhbati declares that Dritimaan deserves punishment and refuses to marry him, shocking everyone. She tries to leave, but Jhanak stops her. Dritimaan asks her to punish him but not abandon him. Aditi urges her not to leave before celebrating Dadabhai and Indumati. Everyone encourages Sanjhbati to accept Dritimaan.
Indumati explains that Dritimaan returned because he promised Sanjhbati, and leaving him would have been unbearable. Dritimaan pleads for her forgiveness but not her departure. Aditi is relieved that their family is finally coming together. Rishi quietly realizes his feelings for Jhanak, and Jhanak feels happy seeing him content, though she believes she has no claim to the family’s happiness.
Meanwhile, Sanjhbati’s mother worries that her daughter might get hurt but acknowledges her enduring love for Dritimaan. Her friend says society often judges unfairly, and they should hear Dritimaan’s side. Sanjhbati calls her mother, explaining everything. Her mother advises caution but ultimately respects her decision and ends the call in tears, while her friend supports trusting Sanjhbati.
Later, Aditi gives her jewelry to Mishti to hide, explaining that it is part of Arshi’s plan to remove Jhanak from their lives by sending her to a specific room. Mishti praises the plan and leaves, while Aditi believes Jhanak will be permanently out of her life.
