The episode opens with Jhanak telling the journalists that Aniruddh is her father, a truth her mother, Nutan, revealed to her before her death. However, Aniruddh has refused to accept her as his daughter. Jhanak states that Nutan was an honest woman and that Aniruddh betrayed her. She adds that Aniruddh is afraid of losing his reputation and his current family, which is why he refuses to accept the truth. Jhanak tells the media that she is living in Kolkata to pursue her medical studies, but Aniruddh wants her to leave the city. She insists that she is ready to undergo a DNA test to prove she is telling the truth and promises to leave Kolkata if the results prove otherwise.
A journalist asks Jhanak whether she understands the consequences of making such serious accusations. Rishi steps in and confirms that Jhanak is telling the truth, declaring his full support for her. When asked about his forced marriage to Jhanak, Rishi explains that he had gone to Simulboni for work, but due to a misunderstanding, the villagers forced him to marry her. He further reveals that Aniruddh later forced both of them to divorce. Rishi states that he will always stand by Jhanak and that she is fighting only for justice. When questioned about whether there is still something between him and Jhanak, Rishi responds that it is a personal matter.
Another journalist asks why Rishi is involving himself in this issue. Rishi replies that he is supporting Jhanak as a friend. The journalist then mentions that Aniruddh’s daughter, Aditi, is Rishi’s wife. Rishi clarifies that his fight is for the truth and has nothing to do with Aditi. Later at the police station, Aditi asks Rishi whether he intends to prove that Aniruddh tried to kill Jhanak. Inside, the police inspector informs them that he has received a report from the investigation team, which is why they have been called in for questioning. Aniruddh questions why he is being investigated, while Arshi asks why they are being interrogated in connection with the Chatterjee family’s maid.
The police inspector asks Jhanak to describe what happened. Jhanak explains that a catering staff member told her to place food in the kitchen. Once inside, she smelled something strange, after which the kitchen caught fire. She screamed and then lost consciousness. When the inspector asks Rishi what he witnessed, Rishi says that the kitchen door was locked from the outside. The inspector then asks who hired the catering service, to which Aniruddh admits that he did.
The catering team leader is brought in for questioning. The inspector asks him why one of his staff members sent Jhanak into the kitchen. The team leader insists that they did nothing wrong and were only doing their job. The inspector sarcastically asks whether locking Jhanak inside the kitchen and setting it on fire was also part of their work. Aniruddh questions whether the inspector is accusing him of attempting to kill Jhanak simply because he hired the catering service. The inspector replies that he will register an attempted murder case if the investigation demands it.
Rishi asks Aditi whether she still intends to defend Aniruddh. Aniruddh angrily tells Rishi to remain silent. Rishi says that his doubts are now clearing and accuses Aniruddh of knowing that Jhanak is his daughter. Aniruddh dismisses this as nonsense. The police inspector threatens to arrest the catering team leader if he does not reveal the truth, stating that he knows the leader is merely a pawn and wants to identify the real mastermind.
The catering team leader again claims innocence, explaining that his staff asked Jhanak to go to the kitchen simply because she was nearby and that other team members were also heading there. He questions why they would sabotage their own business. The inspector concludes that the case will now go to court. Aniruddh declares that he will hire a lawyer and prove his innocence. The inspector advises him to speak the truth in court and asks Rishi to remain unbiased. Rishi assures him that he will not disappoint.
Later, Jhanak tells Rishi that he is suffering because of her and that people will blame her for ruining his marriage with Aditi. Rishi responds that Aditi is supporting what is wrong, so he cannot stand by her. He admits that he loves Jhanak. When Jhanak asks him not to say that, Rishi questions whether she loves him. Jhanak says she does not know. Rishi insists that he knows she loves him and urges her not to give up, promising that the truth will eventually come out and Aniruddh cannot stop it.
Jhanak says she came to Kolkata to study, but now she must attend court hearings. She adds that she cannot stay at Rishi’s house because his family does not want her there. Rishi comforts her and asks her not to feel sad. Jhanak thanks him for everything, but Rishi says he did it for himself because her happiness makes him happy. He encourages her to focus on her studies and tells her that he has dreamed a lot for her. Jhanak says she has had a dream too. When Rishi asks what it is, she admits that she dreamed of living with him but will not act on that dream. Rishi declares that he wants to live with her for the rest of his life.
