The episode opens with Kapil lost in thought, haunted by the image of Mangal wearing sindoor and mangalsutra during a recent meeting. Meanwhile, Pratima watches him absentmindedly pour water over uncooked rice and attempt to eat it. He ends up vomiting. Alarmed, Pratima confronts him and asks what’s troubling him. Kapil dismisses her concern, claiming he’s just tired. But Pratima sees through him—she says he’s not tired but emotionally burdened by his feelings for Mangal. She also notes that Mangal hasn’t been coming to the office and asks if something happened between them. Kapil explains that Mangal is working from home now and spending time with her family, which is her choice.
Elsewhere, during breakfast, Kusum quietly signals Sowmya not to sit next to Adit. Sudesh gestures for something, and Mangal, interpreting his signs, encourages him to speak. To everyone’s surprise and delight, Sudesh clearly asks for salt. Mangal points out that his sense of taste is returning—a hopeful sign of recovery. However, Sowmya grows uneasy, worried that Sudesh might soon recall her past attempt to harm him.
Akshat, eager to help Sudesh regain his memory, shows him some old photos. Sudesh identifies one of them as their “new house,” which Kusum confirms, explaining that they moved recently. When she offers him more food, he politely refuses. Suddenly, Sowmya excuses herself, claiming she has an important video call.
Later, Akshat prays to Maata Rani, thanking her for bringing his parents closer. He promises to cut down on screen time if they reunite. Mangal, Adit, and Ishana overhear his heartfelt prayer. Ishana accuses Mangal of pretending to be with Adit just for Sudesh’s sake and warns that Akshat will be heartbroken when he learns the truth. She calls both Adit and Mangal selfish before walking away, and Adit goes after her.
Shortly after, Akshat notices that a button on Adit’s shirt has come off. When Adit asks what to do, Akshat confidently says, “Don’t worry—Mangal is here.” Though hesitant at first, Mangal agrees to help and sews the button back on.
Meanwhile, Pratima visits Kusum’s house, hoping to understand why Kapil has been so disturbed. There, she sees Mangal wearing sindoor and mangalsutra and instantly understands Kapil’s turmoil. Holding back tears, she turns to leave, just as Kusum arrives and greets her warmly. Kusum invites her in, but Pratima declines, citing work. Before leaving, she asks pointedly, “If Sowmya is married to Adit, then why is Mangal wearing sindoor and mangalsutra?”
Back inside, Sowmya sees Adit and Mangal together and reacts angrily. Adit explains that his shirt button had come off and Akshat had asked Mangal to help. Mangal sends Akshat inside. Sowmya, now annoyed, says she could have fixed it herself. She starts stitching the button but deliberately pricks Adit with the needle. Adit winces and tells her she’s hurting him—besides, Mangal has already fixed it. Sowmya scolds him, but Adit tells her not to create drama and leaves to visit Sudesh before heading to work.
Meanwhile, Kusum tells Pratima that Mangal has been deeply involved in Sudesh’s recovery. She then asks if Kapil has agreed to the marriage proposal. Pratima replies that her decision has changed due to recent developments. When Kusum asks why she came so unexpectedly, Pratima simply says, “It’s no longer important,” and walks away.
Back at home, Mangal prepares water at just the right temperature for Sudesh’s care. But as she leaves to bring him, Sowmya secretly swaps the water with scalding hot water, thinking to herself, “Let’s see how Mangal handles this now.”
