The episode begins with Mangal urging Shanti to take her medicine, but instead, Shanti pleads with Mangal to get engaged to Kapil, saying, “Please give me this happiness.” Overwhelmed, Mangal becomes emotional and breaks down in tears.
Meanwhile, Kapil searches for Mangal. Pratima notices he hasn’t started getting ready and asks why. Kapil explains he thought he heard Mangal calling him and went to find her. Pratima reassures him that Mangal is getting dressed in her room and encourages him to get ready as well, saying he’ll have a lifetime to talk to her.
Mangal sits still and expressionless in front of the mirror as Shanti and Lipika help her get dressed. Simultaneously, Pratima assists Kapil with his attire. Shanti lovingly tells Mangal, “My heart says Kapil will give you all the happiness you deserve. He will treat you like a queen, and I’ll be content seeing you both together.”
Elsewhere, Adit reflects on Mangal’s words—that he has no right to question her—and recalls Sowmya warning him that Mangal will take the children away. Troubled, he tells Sowmya that he wants to talk, but she complains of a headache and lies down. Adit laments having no one with whom he can share his feelings.
Kapil finally sees Mangal and is captivated by her presence. He confesses he can’t take his eyes off her and expresses his love before hugging her. They share a brief moment of happiness—only for Adit to snap out of this daydream in shock. Enraged, he stares at the engagement invitation and throws it away in anger.
At the venue, the photographer clicks pictures of Kapil as Mangal arrives. He smiles upon seeing her. Their colleagues whisper that Kapil seems smitten. Pratima proudly introduces Mangal to her friends and blesses her. She seats Kapil beside Mangal, and he compliments her. When he asks if she’s nervous, Mangal spots Lakshmi entering and rushes to greet her.
Lakshmi greets Mangal warmly, and the two share a joyful reunion. Later, Lakshmi meets Kapil, who warmly remarks that Mangal often speaks fondly of her. He tries to keep the conversation light.
Shanti then calls out to Lakshmi, asking if she won’t greet her aunt. Lakshmi politely inquires about Shanti’s health. Shanti hugs her and says, “Today is special for Mangal. Make sure she stays happy.” Her tone shifts subtly as she adds a veiled warning for Lakshmi to behave like a guest and not ruin anything.
Sensing unease, Lakshmi quietly asks Mangal why she seems unhappy and whether she’s being forced into marriage. Just as Mangal is about to reply, Akshat arrives, greeting both Mangal and Kapil warmly. Ishana joins and calls out, “Mom.” Overcome with emotion, Mangal recalls Ishana’s hurtful words but melts as Ishana apologizes. They share a tearful hug. Kapil looks on with joy, while Pratima appears unsettled. Akshat joins the emotional moment. Shanti silently thanks God, feeling a weight lifted now that Mangal’s children have accepted the engagement.
Meanwhile, Pratima’s friends mock her for choosing a woman with two children for Kapil. Other colleagues chat about how grand the engagement is and wonder how extravagant the wedding will be. They also note that everyone is present—except Adit.
Elsewhere, Adit drinks alone by the roadside. Back at the venue, the photographer asks Mangal and Kapil to pose closely for photos. Kapil playfully invites Akshat to sit between them and calls Ishana over, but she ignores him.
Adit, seeing the family photo, grows bitter. He never imagined Mangal could move on this far. At the celebration, Lipika, Lakshmi, and Ishani dance joyfully to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Shanti notices Mangal’s somber expression and pulls her aside, saying, “Everything’s going perfectly, and the guests are happy. But if you keep looking this dull, people will notice.” Mangal replies, “I’m trying, but it’s hard.” Shanti urges her to try harder, reminding her, “This is your future.”
Later, Pratima invites the couple to exchange rings. Just as Kapil is about to slip the ring onto Mangal’s finger, someone throws a stone. The ring slips from Kapil’s hand and rolls to a stop at Adit’s feet. Kapil bends to retrieve it and sees a drunken Adit standing there. Akshat cheerfully exclaims, “Glad Dad came!” but Ishana quickly pulls him away.
Adit loudly demands someone record the moment, declaring that Kapil should fall at his feet to ask for Mangal’s hand. Kapil calmly asks him to leave, noting he’s drunk. Adit grabs his collar and insists he’s fully aware of what he’s doing. The guests are stunned. Kapil removes his hand and again asks him to leave. Adit sarcastically apologizes for ruining the celebration. He adds with venom, “You’re number one in everything—except being a husband. You’re husband number two. I’ll always have the first rights.”
He mocks Mangal for believing in lifetime commitment and for now settling for a second man. Then turning to Lakshmi, he taunts, “Why so quiet? Aren’t you going to sing your sister’s praises?” He sneers that Mangal finally got a caring man like Kapil and touches her hand, apologizing for not valuing her before. He accuses her of trapping Kapil within six months.
When Adit misbehaves with Pratima, Kapil finally loses his temper and intervenes.
