The episode opens with Kapil gazing at a photo of himself with Mangal, lost in the memory of the moment when Adit offered Mangal water to break her fast. Just then, Mangal arrives, holding a glass of water. She gently says, “I heard you haven’t had a drop of water since morning.” She continues, “I don’t know how it all happened—I fainted and began coughing, and Adit came to help me.”
Kapil responds coldly, “I didn’t ask for an explanation.” He adds that his mother’s anger is justified because her hopes were shattered in front of everyone. “I know you didn’t do it on purpose, but the damage is already done. I can’t keep watching my mother get hurt again and again,” he says, before walking away. “I don’t want to be part of this whole fasting and ritual drama.”
Meanwhile, Adit is still disturbed by Pratima’s harsh words. When Mangal returns home, Adit immediately confronts her. “Where were you when your mother-in-law was insulting me and my mother?” he asks angrily. Mangal replies, “I was inside. I had no idea what was happening. I tried explaining everything to both Pratima and Kapil.” Adit retorts, “You cleared your name, and I was left as the villain. Why are you even here? Go live with your new family. They insulted me endlessly.”
Mangal pleads with him to listen, but Adit reminds her, “You used to say I never showed up to break your fast. This time I did. I fulfilled my duty.” Mangal quietly responds, “We’re no longer together. And when it really mattered, you weren’t there.”
Kusum watches in silence, questioning why Adit is still so affected by Mangal’s marriage to Kapil.
Later, Kapil brings food to Pratima and urges her to let go of her anger. Pratima tells him she’s calmer now but confesses her concern. “I know you’re deeply hurt. You haven’t even eaten.” When Kapil insists he’s not hungry, she says, “I was happy thinking you’d moved on. But now I’m starting to wonder—maybe Mangal isn’t the right woman for you. Adit is the father of her children, and he’ll always be around. Perhaps I was wrong to arrange this marriage.”
Back at home, Mangal notices a thali on the table and asks whose it is. Sowmya, mocking her, says, “Pretend it’s yours. Didn’t they feed you at Kapil’s house? Seems like they’re upset over your little performance.” She adds sarcastically, “If Kapil didn’t feed you, maybe you can call Adit—he gave you water, didn’t he?”
Mangal firmly replies, “Adit was just helping me. Don’t twist the situation.”
Sowmya then accuses her, “You stole what was rightfully mine. Do you want both Adit and Kapil?” Mangal responds, “There’s no point in talking to you.” As she turns to leave, Sowmya blocks her way.
Mangal says, “Trust your husband. I’m leaving this house after the wedding—isn’t that what you want? I’ve already signed the divorce papers. Look at them every day if you need reassurance.”
Meanwhile, Shanti falls at Pratima’s feet, begging her to forgive Mangal. But Pratima refuses, saying, “I can’t bear to see my son being insulted over and over again. Mangal isn’t right for Kapil. I’m sorry.”
Kapil, still unable to drink water, is silently suffering. Pratima shows Shanti that her son hasn’t eaten since the day before. Later, Mangal brings food for Kapil. Assuming it was a servant who ignored his request, Kapil tells them to take the food back. But then he sees Mangal standing there.
Mangal says, “Don’t take your anger out on the food. I don’t like that you’re starving because of me. Hurting you is the last thing I want.”
Kapil asks, “Is this your way of bribing me—with food you made yourself?”
“You’re misunderstanding me,” Mangal says quietly. “I don’t even know how to explain… I’m leaving.”
As she turns to go, Kapil holds her hand. Mangal looks back, surprised.
