The episode begins with Umesh asking Gayatri about the pooja she has organized. Gayatri explains that it is for Karthik’s happiness and mentions that she has also invited some friends. Umesh agrees. Soon, the doorbell rings, and Gayatri warmly welcomes her guests.
During the pooja, Lakshmi and Karthik offer prayers to the Goddess. Gayatri then asks Lakshmi to distribute the prashad, which she does. Meanwhile, Gayatri cleverly makes Karthik play with her friend’s grandson, remarking how happy the baby looks with him. When Lakshmi finishes distributing prashad, she too joins in playing with the child. At Gayatri’s signal, however, the lady suddenly takes the baby away from Lakshmi. Shocked, her mother-in-law questions her behavior. The lady replies that since Lakshmi is infertile, she fears her child might fall under the “evil eye.”
Karthik gets furious and defends Lakshmi, rebuking the lady for her narrow-mindedness. Pretending ignorance, Gayatri asks what happened. Karthik tells his mother she was wrong to invite such people. The guests apologize and leave.
That night, Lakshmi recalls the hurtful words and breaks down, clutching a pillow. When Karthik enters, she quickly hides her pain and acts normal. He consoles her, saying they must face this together. Lakshmi laments that fate keeps testing her and feels sorry that Karthik, who loves children so much, has to suffer because of her. Karthik reassures her that their love is enough, and that even without children, they are not defeated. Lakshmi hugs him emotionally.
Later, Gayatri gives away Karthik’s childhood belongings to the watchman. Lakshmi notices and stops her, saying they must preserve them because they hold precious memories. Gayatri coldly replies that those things only remind her they have no grandchildren and that their dream remains incomplete. Pretending to be hurt, she walks away, while secretly thinking that she will make Lakshmi feel so guilty that she leaves Karthik on her own. Gayatri then receives Mrs. Gupta and tells her to bring her daughter, adding that she dislikes Karthik’s first wife and wants him to remarry.
The next day, Gayatri suggests a family trip to the Kuldevi Mandir for pooja. When asked why she isn’t coming, she pretends her feet hurt. Umesh agrees, and the family sets out. On the way, Sanjana grows suspicious of Gayatri’s intentions. She suddenly acts unwell and asks them to return home. Concerned, Lakshmi tells Karthik to take them back.
Meanwhile, Gayatri welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Gupta along with their daughter Payal. When they ask about Karthik’s wife, Gayatri lies that Lakshmi cannot have children and that the two are separated. She shows them Karthik’s photos, claiming his life was ruined after marrying Lakshmi, but everything can be fixed if he marries Payal. Just then, the doorbell rings, and Gayatri is stunned to see the family return. The Guptas are delighted to meet Karthik. Umesh questions who they are, while Mrs. Gupta tells Payal to take a photo with Karthik to show their relatives, calling him “our son-in-law.” Shocked, Karthik demands, “What son-in-law?”
