The episode begins with Bua telling Arohi that she must change her name, as it’s a long-standing rule in the Deewan household. Every daughter-in-law, according to tradition, has changed her name after marriage. Based on Arohi’s horoscope, Bua insists that “Akansha” is the most auspicious name for her and will bring blessings to the family.
Arohi, however, calmly replies that her parents chose the name “Arohi” with love, and it has always brought good fortune to her family. They’ve never faced any misfortune because of it. Bua argues back, reminding her that she was shot — suggesting that her name might be unlucky for her in-laws — and declares that she cannot allow her to keep it.
Arohi firmly refuses, saying her name is her identity and she cannot give it up. Kailash steps in, stating that the rule is mandatory. Every daughter-in-law has accepted a new name after entering this family. Anuradha interrupts, saying no one in the house is truly happy with their new names — not her, not Badra, nor Kanika. She refuses to let her daughter-in-law change her name and stands by Arohi. Kailash warns her not to cross her limits.
Kailash then tells Arohi that if she wants to stay in the house, she must change her name. Arohi replies that she will never change her identity and confidently says her husband will support her. Just then, Abhishek arrives and shocks everyone by saying that Arohi’s name will be changed. Anuradha and Arohi are stunned — but then Abhishek adds that her new name will be Arohi Shinde Deewan. Kailash and Bua are left speechless.
Abhishek then turns to Arohi and tells her that she is perfectly fine — she doesn’t need the wheelchair. He exposes that his mother lied to everyone and bribed the doctor to issue a fake disability certificate. Kailash and Bua are shocked. Abhishek demands an explanation from his mother — why did she deceive him and alter the report? If he hadn’t investigated, he would’ve lived in the dark forever. He accuses her of trying to take away his happiness and separate him from Arohi.
When Arohi tries to defend her mother-in-law, Abhishek stops her. Kailash again insists that no matter what, Arohi must change her name. He recalls how Bua had provoked him to raise the issue in the first place.
Their secret plan was clear — force Arohi into a no-win situation. If she changed her name, they could control her like the other daughters-in-law; if she refused, they could throw her out of the house.
Abhishek and Anuradha strongly oppose Kailash’s decision. Enraged, he declares that Arohi will be locked in the house and punished. He orders the servants to take the day off and demands that Arohi clean the entire house as punishment.
Anuradha protests, saying cleaning the house is no punishment at all — she’s ready to take any number of punishments but will never allow her daughter-in-law’s name to be changed. She begins cleaning, but Arohi and others join her in solidarity, standing united against Kailash’s unfair rules.
Later, Abhishek apologizes to his mother for misunderstanding her earlier. Bua remarks that the rules of the house are changing — from now on, Arohi will take charge of the household and make important decisions. She recalls that Devika once tried and failed to do so, but now Arohi will take that role. Kanika grows suspicious as Devika arrives.
The nurse subtly signals to Bua, asking her to move Devika to a corner room. Arohi intervenes, suggesting that Devika should stay in a larger room with sunlight, which will help her recovery. Impressed, Bua agrees to her suggestion.
