The episode begins with the police inspector stating that they suspect Jhanak but asking whether she suspects anyone. Jhanak replies that she doesn’t suspect anyone. The DIG questions why she admitted to the theft, and Jhanak explains that she lied because she was scared Rishi might lose his job. When asked if she thinks someone framed her, Jhanak says she doesn’t know anything about it.
The DIG then asks why the college expelled her from the hostel. Jhanak explains she was accused of performing puja to a skull, but in reality, she was only performing puja to her mother’s photo. She has no idea who placed the skull in her hostel room. When the DIG says, according to her, everyone else is in the wrong, Jhanak confirms this. She adds that she planned to return to her village, but Aditi brought her home.
When asked about her marriage with Rishi, Jhanak says she married him due to her villagers’ pressure, and they did not accept the marriage. The constable questions why she is allegedly trying to ruin Rishi’s married life. Jhanak denies this, insisting they should only question her about the theft. She points out that multiple people’s fingerprints were found on the jewel and bag, so how can they be certain she is the thief? The DIG accuses her of benefiting from Aditi while still trying to harm the Chatterjee family, but Jhanak maintains that she did not steal the jewel.
Meanwhile, outside the police station, Putul expresses concern for Jhanak. Dadabhai notes that the police are trying to prove Jhanak is a thief. Rishi assures them he will prove her innocence, acknowledging that Jhanak lied when discussing his job but should not have admitted to stealing the jewel.
The police inspector asks Jhanak why she is threatening Aniruddh with a DNA test. She questions the connection between the two matters. When asked whether this will affect her college admission, Jhanak responds that she is only there for interrogation and her crime hasn’t been proven, so it won’t impact her studies. The constable mockingly comments on her cleverness, and Jhanak says she has to be smart as she lives alone in Kolkata. The DIG warns that she will face punishment if found guilty.
Jhanak asserts that she will accept punishment only if proven guilty. When asked to write a statement admitting theft, she refuses, claiming innocence. The inspector warns her that her career could be ruined by her defiance. Jhanak insists she will not confess to stealing the jewel, making it her final decision.
Aditi arrives with Aniruddh and informs Rishi that she convinced him to withdraw the complaint. Rishi is shocked, and Aniruddh admits he agreed for Aditi’s sake. Rishi emphasizes Jhanak’s innocence, but Aditi urges focusing on a solution rather than arguments. She asks Rishi if he thinks she is trying to frame Jhanak, pointing out that she brought her home. Aniruddh warns Aditi she might lose everything because of Jhanak, and Aditi admits her fear but insists he withdraw the complaint before leaving. Rishi sends Putul and Dadabhai away.
Inside, Aniruddh meets the DIG, who mentions that Jhanak refuses to accept her crime. Aniruddh tells him he wants to withdraw the case at Aditi’s request. Jhanak asserts that she doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy and that the truth is on her side. Aniruddh hands the withdrawal letter to the DIG, and Jhanak leaves.
Elsewhere, Neelu informs Indumati that Mishti didn’t attend college, fearing the police. Mishti recalls how Aditi instructed her to hide the jewel in Jhanak’s bag, which led to Jhanak’s arrest. She worries she might be arrested next. Indumati reassures her, while Neelu says fingerprints aren’t a big deal. Noticing Mishti has a fever, Neelu gives her medicine, and Indumati stays with her as Mishti prays for protection.
At the police station, Rishi checks if Jhanak is okay. Sanjhbati and Dritimaan arrive to take her home. Jhanak asks if Sanjhbati believed she stole, and Sanjhbati says she wouldn’t have come if she did. Aniruddh reminds Rishi that Jhanak’s release was due to his sympathy, but Rishi asserts that she would have been released anyway because she is innocent.
Later, Kaka inquires if Sanjhbati came alone, and she explains Dritimaan brought her. Kaka asks about Dritimaan’s plans to stay in Kolkata or return abroad. Dritimaan hasn’t decided, and Kaka assures that the marriage would be acceptable if he stays.
At college, Ayush tells Jhanak he’s heard about the theft case. She asks if he thinks she’s guilty, and Ayush assures her of his trust. Mishti and her friends arrive, calling Jhanak a thief.
