The episode begins with Kapil praising Mangal, saying, “Hats off to you for always choosing the right path.” He adds that his respect for her has grown even more today. Mangal responds that she has completed her work and, since it’s already 2 p.m., she’s leaving to give Papa his medicine. Kapil agrees and lets her go.
Meanwhile, Lipika breaks down in front of Shanti, asking tearfully if no one will ever marry her. Shanti gently consoles her, asking her not to say such things and assuring her that she will definitely get married. Lipika questions how that’s possible when nobody wants to marry her. Just then, Nitin steps in and declares that he will marry her.
Shocked, Shanti demands how he dared to enter their house and tries to throw a vase at him. Nitin pleads with her to hear him out and explains his intentions calmly.
Elsewhere, Kapil returns home and greets his mother, Pratima. She notices his cheerful mood and asks why he looks so happy. Kapil shares that Mangal has agreed to help him with work. Pratima reminds him that he once claimed he could manage everything on his own. Kapil says that sometimes, accepting help feels good. Pratima comments that Mangal will now be juggling work from home along with managing Adit’s family. Kapil clarifies that Mangal is only pretending to be Adit’s wife for Sudesh’s sake—since he is slowly regaining his memory, any sudden shock could harm him. He then leaves.
Back at Shanti’s house, Nitin insists that no one but him will marry Lipika. He reminds Shanti that Lipika’s earlier wedding was cancelled, and now another proposal has fallen through. He blames Mangal for the family’s damaged reputation, saying she divorced her husband yet continues living with Adit. He repeats that only he is willing to marry Lipika and adds that Lipika always wanted a wealthy husband—and he fits the bill.
At Adit’s house, Mangal prepares to begin work when Shanti arrives unexpectedly and informs her that a marriage proposal has come for Lipika—and she has accepted it. Mangal, surprised, asks why she wasn’t informed earlier and inquires about the groom. Shanti hands her a wedding card, saying Mangal already knows the man.
Mangal reads the name “Nitin Bharadwaj” and immediately asks if it’s the same Nitin who once wanted to marry Lakshmi. Shanti confirms it. Stunned, Mangal questions how she could agree to this match. Shanti explains that no one else is ready to marry Lipika.
Mangal asks why she believes that. Shanti reveals that another groom’s family visited earlier that day but declined the proposal. They claimed that Lipika’s elder sister is divorced and still living with her ex-husband and his current wife. They also demanded a hefty dowry that Shanti couldn’t afford. She blames Mangal for the rejection, saying Lipika’s chances are ruined because of her.
Shanti urges Mangal to remarry in order to erase the social stigma. Mangal firmly refuses, saying that marriage isn’t the only purpose in life. Shanti snaps back, asking why she’s still staying in the same house if she doesn’t believe in marriage—especially after Adit divorced her.
She reminds Mangal how hard she fought to save the marriage and now holds her responsible for ruining Lipika’s future. Shanti adds that people are gossiping about Mangal having an affair with her boss. Mangal tells her to ignore such baseless talk, but Shanti, overwhelmed, breaks down and says both her daughters’ lives are in ruins. She collapses onto the sofa in distress, leaving Mangal deeply worried.
