The episode begins with Payal telling Karthik that her mother is thrilled about their marriage. Shocked, Karthik asks if they are unaware that he is already married to Lakshmi. He then questions Gayatri about who these people are. Gayatri calmly replies that she wanted him to meet Payal and her family. But Karthik firmly refuses, saying he doesn’t want to meet anyone and demands they stop lying.
Enraged, Payal’s mother scolds Gayatri for deceiving them by claiming Karthik and Lakshmi were divorced. Humiliated, she storms out with her family. Later, Sanjana confronts Gayatri, asking if she deliberately arranged for Karthik’s second marriage by sending them to the temple. Gayatri admits it, declaring that this time she will select a woman worthy of their status. Karthik is left stunned.
Gayatri then reveals that she never liked Lakshmi but tolerated her for Karthik’s sake. She accuses Lakshmi of being incapable of giving them an heir and insists Karthik must marry Payal to have children. Furious, Karthik refuses outright. But Gayatri lashes out, claiming Lakshmi is infertile and will never bring happiness to their family. At that moment, Umesh slaps Gayatri, warning her that she has crossed every limit without even consulting him.
Still, Gayatri blames Lakshmi for turning the family against her. In frustration, she threatens to leave and douses herself with kerosene, daring Lakshmi to set her ablaze. The family rushes to stop her, and Gayatri pretends to faint. When the doctor is called, he explains that her condition is due to stress and advises them to keep her calm.
Later, Umesh apologizes to Lakshmi on Gayatri’s behalf. Lakshmi explains that Gayatri’s obsession with grandchildren drove her to consider Karthik’s second marriage. But Karthik angrily insists nothing can justify her actions. Lakshmi tries to soothe him, saying they can talk once Gayatri recovers. Upset, Karthik walks away.
In the kitchen, Lakshmi breaks down in tears. Meanwhile, Karthik vents his rage on a punching bag. He imagines holding a baby with Lakshmi, but reality pulls him back. Determined, he tells himself that Lakshmi deserves happiness, and he will fight destiny itself to have a child with her.
Soon after, Sanjana confronts Gayatri, accusing her of faking unconsciousness. Gayatri snaps back, vowing that either Karthik will remarry or she will live as Sanjana’s servant. Sanjana retorts with confidence that Karthik will never agree, and the two challenge each other.
The next morning, Karthik blows the conch, gathering the entire family. Gayatri emotionally pleads that before she dies, she wants to see him happy with children. To everyone’s shock, Karthik announces his decision. Looking at Lakshmi, he declares that his mother is right and that he will fulfill her wish. Gayatri rejoices, while Lakshmi is left shattered. Sanjana quietly taunts Lakshmi, saying Karthik has agreed to leave her for the sake of children.
