The episode begins with Kanka saying Jhanak doesn’t even know her father’s name, and as a village girl, there’s no reason a city man like Rishi would accept her—especially since he was forced into marriage with her. Jhanak tells Kanka to stop talking nonsense, explaining she came only to take her exams and plans to move to the city for admission to a good college, with Dadabhai’s support for her studies. She questions why everyone kept asking about Rishi when her in-laws visited. Nutan intervenes, telling Kanka to stop, adding that she will never leave Simulboni, so Kanka should give up that hope. Parashar ends the matter, saying Jhanak’s in-laws came, and sends the villagers away.
Nutan takes Jhanak inside, asking her to rest, but Jhanak says she needs to study. Parashar insists she should rest. Nutan presses Jhanak to reveal the truth about Rishi, wondering why he didn’t come. Jhanak insists she hasn’t lied. Nutan points out that Rishi hasn’t called or answered calls, demanding the truth. Jhanak admits Rishi would never willingly accept her—he was already engaged to Aditi, whom he deeply loves. She explains that Rishi faced trouble because of the villagers and that she freed him from their relationship.
Meanwhile, Indumati accuses Dadabhai of worsening Rishi’s problems. Abhimanyu asks why Dadabhai didn’t tell the truth to Jhanak’s family. Putul says they couldn’t, given Jhanak’s critical condition at the time. Rishi questions what harm there is in telling the truth, but Neelu insists only Aditi’s suffering matters to them. Dadabhai says Aditi, being educated and independent, can choose to leave Rishi, but Jhanak doesn’t have that choice since the villagers see her as his wife. Rishi denies the marriage, declaring that only Aditi matters and that he’ll marry her once she understands him. He warns that Aditi won’t return if she learns Dadabhai visited Simulboni. Dadabhai says that doesn’t concern him—he will always support Jhanak and help her get into college. Surjeet disagrees, and Abhimanyu claims Dadabhai’s actions are ruining Rishi’s life. Tanushri asks if Dadabhai invited Jhanak to stay there. Dadabhai says it’s his house and he can do so, revealing that Jhanak had refused to come but later suffered a heart attack.
Parashar urges Rishi to accept Jhanak. Jhanak defends Rishi, saying he did nothing wrong by not accepting her. Nutan remarks that Jhanak’s fate mirrors her own. Jhanak admits she and Rishi are mismatched. When Parashar asks if she accepts Rishi as her husband, she says she doesn’t know—maybe her heart has accepted him—and breaks into tears.
