The episode begins with Nandini visiting Tulsi in jail. Overwhelmed with guilt, Nandini tells Tulsi that she cannot live with the burden of what has happened. Tulsi, however, asks Nandini to stay with her family and ensure that no one ever learns the truth. She explains that both Ansh and Parth were wrong and that she took the blame to save a woman. Tulsi says that society would never believe that a man could torture his wife, and it would never forgive a mother for killing her own son. She asks Nandini to return home, assuring her that this is the only way to protect everyone. Nandini says that Tulsi is sacrificing everything for her while she is unable to do anything in return. Tulsi reminds her that Karan needs her and insists that no one should come to meet her anymore. She says she has already been imprisoned for many years in life and now wants to remain alone. Tulsi asks Nandini to take care of Shantiniketan, uphold its traditions and rituals, and keep the family together. She knows that Karan will never forgive her and also realizes that Papa is aware of what she has done. Before Nandini leaves, Tulsi assures her that she will handle everything and will never reveal the truth to Mihir.
The next day, Karan comes to meet Tulsi in jail. Seeing him, Tulsi recalls the immense pain he is going through and tries to speak to him. However, Karan says that he has already performed the last rites of both his sons and demands to know why she killed Parth. Calling Tulsi a murderer, he blames her for bringing Parth back from America. Karan also asks why she killed Rio along with Parth. Tulsi insists that she did not kill Rio, but Karan refuses to believe her. Devastated by the loss of his son, he says he prays that no one ever gets a mother like her and even asks her to kill him as well. He tells Tulsi never to take his name again because, from that moment onward, he is dead to her. Karan declares that even Mandira was better than Tulsi, calls her a curse on the family, and brands her a dayan before walking away, leaving Tulsi in tears.
Meanwhile, Gayatri learns from Maharaj that everyone has locked themselves in their rooms and no one is willing to eat. Saddened by the situation, she asks Maharaj to distribute food to the poor in Parth’s name.
Elsewhere, Niyati packs her belongings and prepares to leave Shantiniketan. Gayatri stops her and asks where she is going, urging her to stay. Niyati replies that there is no one left for her to wait for and says that the house has destroyed her life. Gayatri asks her to at least speak to Karan before leaving, but Niyati says that Karan is already traumatized. She regrets ever coming to Shantiniketan and declares that she no longer wants to live in the house of a murderer. At the same time, Gayatri notices that the sacred Tulsi plant has withered and feels as though the life and soul of Shantiniketan have come to an end.
Nandini continues to struggle with guilt, believing that Tulsi has taken the blame for her sins. She feels that Tulsi should have been free while she should have been the one behind bars. Just then, Sobha comes to meet her and asks how their mother could take such a drastic step. She wants to know why Tulsi committed the crime. Nandini tells Sobha that those who have left will never return. Confused by Nandini’s calm behaviour in front of Tulsi’s photograph, Sobha questions her further. However, Nandini keeps the truth hidden from Sobha as well and silently wonders why Tulsi asked her to continue living with the lie.
In jail, Tulsi shares a barrack with another inmate. Later, she receives a letter from Mihir. In the letter, Mihir tells Tulsi that he will not come to meet her. Reading his words leaves Tulsi completely heartbroken.
