The episode opens with Ankita cutting her birthday cake and feeding everyone—except Ishani. She introduces Yash’s family to her friends but deliberately leaves Ishani out. When one friend inquires about Ishani, Ankita casually says she forgot and mentions that Ishani also lives in the house. Ishani questions what she means and asks her to clarify her relationship with the Sengupta family. Ankita dismisses the question, saying what she said is enough and that Ishani’s family can explain the rest. Ishani pushes back, asking why her family should explain when Ankita is doing the introductions. She then introduces herself as Ishani Sengupta, revealing that Shashwat married her after his first wife’s death and that she is the mother of Pihu and Yash.
The next day, Pihu finds Ishani cleaning and tells her they have plans for the day. She praises Ishani for her fluent English the previous day. Ishani replies that it’s nothing special—she studied in a convent school. Pihu admits they didn’t expect her to respond so confidently, and even Shashwat and Raj didi were left speechless. Ishani says she has chores to finish, but Pihu insists they’re going out and hints at a surprise waiting for her.
Ishani quietly says she can’t go to a place that brings her happiness. She recalls her college days and says she once dreamed of becoming an IPS officer, but that dream never came true. Pihu asks why she wanted to be one. Ishani replies that she has always stood against injustice and can’t tolerate it. Pihu asks where that version of Ishani is now. Ishani says one incident changed everything.
Pihu reminds her how she protected her from Jeet and says she fulfilled the role of a mother that day. She hugs Ishani and thanks her. Ishani says she may be a friend to Pihu, but she loves her like a daughter. Pihu says friendship is above everything. Ishani asks if friendship is really greater than a mother-daughter bond. Pihu promises to always protect her.
Raj didi arrives and asks why Ishani hasn’t gone to the kitchen. Ishani says she was cleaning. Pihu tells Raj didi that from now on, everyone will help Ishani with household work. Raj didi accuses Ishani of influencing her. Pihu says she’s going out with Ishani. Raj didi asks if she’s expected to cook now. Ishani says she’ll cook before going out. Raj didi grumbles that she no longer understands what’s going on and asks where they’re going. Pihu says she’ll tell Shashwat at night, and Raj didi can listen then.
Later, Pihu takes Ishani to the market. They enjoy street food together. Pihu tells Ishani she has rights over Shashwat’s wealth. Ishani agrees, saying she is his legal wife, but he doesn’t love her. She adds that Shashwat is still devoted to his first wife. Pihu reveals her mother was a university lecturer and her father was proud of her. She encourages Ishani to win Shashwat’s attention and asks if she loves him. Ishani is stunned by the question.
