Nutan reveals to Aniruddh that Moon is his and Arshi’s daughter, and though it pains her, she wants him to take Moon for a better future. Aniruddh feels conflicted and betrayed but agrees to take Moon, despite the child’s reluctance and emotional attachment to Nutan.
As Nutan prepares Moon to leave, the village reacts with shock and anger, accusing Nutan of betrayal and selfishness. Moon refuses to go and clings to Nutan, but Aniruddh eventually takes her away. Heartbroken, Nutan tells the villagers she will leave if they think she is wrong, and insists she needs time alone to cope with losing Moon.
