The episode begins with Jhanak telling the police inspector that her husband, Rishi, is an honest police officer, and there is no reason he would ever try to kill his wife. Aditi interrupts, questioning Jhanak’s words. Jhanak firmly replies that she is only speaking the truth, reminding Aditi that she did not interrupt her earlier, so Aditi should also let her speak.
The inspector mentions hearing that Rishi’s family is sending Jhanak back to her village. Jhanak corrects him, saying that the information is wrong. She explains she is only going to her village to appear for her exams. When the inspector asks about the accident, Jhanak explains that she is not used to traffic, which led to the mishap. She adds that she is thankful it was Rishi’s car involved, as he took her to the hospital and cared for her like a true husband.
Aditi, shocked, asks Rishi what all this nonsense means. Rishi replies that he doesn’t know. Aditi then tells the inspector that she is going to marry Rishi, reminding him that Jhanak had earlier declared their marriage invalid. Jhanak explains that she was forced into the marriage at the time, which is why she made that statement, but now she has accepted Rishi as her husband and is living with him willingly. She pleads with the inspector not to blame Rishi for anything. The inspector declares the matter clear, instructs Rishi to rejoin duty from the next day, and leaves.
Later, Jhanak reminisces about her mother and breaks down in tears. She writes a letter, leaves it on the table, and quietly leaves Rishi’s house, feeling she has no other choice.
Meanwhile, Aditi reflects on Jhanak’s words and wonders why Rishi kept her in the dark. Arshi notices Aditi hasn’t eaten and questions her. Aniruddh also asks what’s wrong. When pressed, Aditi reveals to her parents what Phool said in front of the inspector. Hearing this, Aniruddh feels history is repeating, since Aditi and Jhanak are sisters. Arshi questions how Phool can keep staying at Rishi’s house and decides to confront him. Aditi, however, warns her not to, saying that’s exactly what Rishi wants. Arshi insists that Aniruddh must do something and bluntly asks Aditi if she really wants to marry a useless man like Rishi. When Aniruddh tries calling Rishi, there is no response. Frustrated, Arshi announces she will cancel the marriage and storms out.
The next day, Dadabhai asks Rishi who has been troubling him. Rishi replies that his senior officer dislikes him. Suddenly, Putul informs everyone that Jhanak is missing from her room despite her searching everywhere. Tanushri says Jhanak must have left because she couldn’t face them after her statements to the inspector. Dadabhai asks if they really believe Jhanak did wrong by protecting Rishi’s job. Rishi admits that Jhanak said everything only to save him and confesses that he has now become a part of her life.
