The episode opens with Jhanak explaining that she made Dadabhai quit snuff out of concern for his health. She believed she was part of the family, but now realizes she may have overstepped. Tearfully, she apologizes for crossing her limits. Dadabhai, surprised, asks why she’s crying when he hasn’t even scolded her. He points out that while he calls her “Beti,” she never calls him “Papa.” Moved, Jhanak hugs him and cries. Indumati gently says they were only joking. Abhimanyu adds that Dadabhai loves Jhanak more than anyone in the house. Dadabhai then tells her not to make him feel guilty with her tears, hands the snuffbox to Abhimanyu, and asks him to throw it away. Smiling, he tells Jhanak she has won and embraces her.
Elsewhere, Arshi questions Aniruddh about the village where he first met Jhanak. He vaguely replies that it was many years ago. Arshi insists she’s asking for Aditi’s future and hasn’t forgotten anything. Aniruddh urges her to move on, but Arshi demands the village’s name. When he says he doesn’t remember, she accuses him of lying. Aniruddh then silently recalls meeting Jhanak in Simulboni.
Later, Dadabhai gives Jhanak a test and reviews her answers. He praises her performance and informs Indumati and Tanushri that she did well. Tanushri asks about her 10th-grade marks, and Jhanak says she scored 94%. Dadabhai expresses his belief that Jhanak should definitely continue her studies. Tanushri reads Jhanak’s essay and discovers that she dreams of becoming a terror police officer. She jokingly remarks that Jhanak wants to be both a goon and a cop.
Meanwhile, Aditi tells Bablu and Anjana that they aren’t accepting the gifts she brought. Bablu explains that they don’t need expensive clothes and advises her to save her money for the future. Aditi then approaches Aniruddh, upset that Bablu and Anjana rejected her gifts. Arshi interrupts, pressing Aniruddh for an answer. Aditi asks what’s going on, but Aniruddh changes the subject. Arshi remarks that Aditi is old enough to know the truth. Aniruddh brushes it off, saying it’s nothing. Arshi then asks Aditi which village Rishi visited. Aditi answers: Simulboni.
Rishi comes downstairs. Dadabhai proudly tells him that Jhanak scored 94% in her 10th exams and wrote an excellent essay in English. Rishi replies that he has work to attend to and begins to leave. Dadabhai suggests Rishi take Jhanak to her village sometime. Rishi refuses, saying it’s not possible. Dadabhai insists he can do it after the wedding. Indumati says Jhanak should return to her village to continue her education.
Rishi maintains that it’s not his responsibility. Dadabhai counters, saying he’ll accompany Jhanak himself since he’s taken responsibility for her education. Jhanak offers to go alone to fill out the form and collect her books. Concerned, Rishi thinks to himself that Dadabhai cannot travel to Simulboni. He then announces he’ll take Jhanak to her village and leave right after. Indumati wonders aloud why Rishi doesn’t treat Jhanak kindly, and Tanushri agrees, saying she too has that doubt.
