The episode opens with Karthik rushing up to a terrace to help a person in distress. He finds an unconscious woman—unaware it’s Lakshmi—and moves to assist her. Swetha arrives moments later and takes Lakshmi away.
The next morning Lakshmi wakes and asks Swetha how she ended up on the terrace. Swetha explains she grew worried when Lakshmi didn’t answer her calls, went to the office, followed a man running to the terrace, and found Lakshmi there. Lakshmi asks who the man was; Swetha says he works at their company. Lakshmi asks Swetha to let her know if she sees him again so she can thank him.
Mangal Lakshmi: Karan Loses His Star Singer – Karthik Steps In!
Lakshmi reminds Swetha that the event is scheduled for that day and they must attend. Swetha, upset, says Barkha locked her on the terrace and suggests they quit and look for other work. Lakshmi insists they go—otherwise people will think they’re afraid. Reluctantly, Swetha agrees.
Meanwhile the singer informs Karan that he’s accepted a more lucrative offer and is quitting. Karan flies into a rage. Just then Lakshmi and Swetha arrive at the office. Karan slaps the singer and, spotting Lakshmi, snaps that he won’t accept the word “no.” The singer warns Karan he’ll regret this and walks out. Karan storms to his room.
Barkha seizes the opportunity and tells Karan she can get Karthik to perform—he has experience. With no other options, Karan agrees. Barkha brags inwardly about having forced the original singer out, then messages Karthik asking him to step in. Karthik reads the message, worries about performing without lyrics, but resolves to make the event a success. He feels grateful to Barkha; she, meanwhile, imagines using this chance to get closer to him.
As preparations continue, Barkha and Gyabi oversee the models; Barkha warns she’ll bar anyone whose style she dislikes. After Barkha leaves, Lakshmi encourages the nervous models, boosting their confidence. The models thank her, and Karan notices that Lakshmi still hasn’t handed over the lyrics—how will Karthik sing? Barkha spots Lakshmi and questions why she’s there; Lakshmi says she’s simply doing her job and is then asked to deliver the singer’s costume.
Karan warns Karthik not to ruin the show, claiming the company’s reputation rests on him and threatening his career if he fails. Karthik insists he needs the lyrics. Lakshmi goes to Karthik’s room with the jacket, but when she knocks Karan opens the door and forbids her from seeing him. Karan accuses Lakshmi of sabotaging the event, snatches the jacket, and orders her out. Lakshmi retreats silently.
The event begins. Karan admits he doesn’t trust Karthik’s performance, while Barkha insists appearance is everything and claims credit for managing the show. Swetha overhears Barkha taking full credit for work done by Lakshmi and feels hurt. Lakshmi tells Swetha not to worry and to let it go.
Later, Vyom tries to teach Lakshmi a lesson. He spreads strings of rice lights across the floor and cuts the power; when Lakshmi steps on them she becomes entangled. Vyom pours water nearby, intending to electrocute her. Lakshmi sees the water and cries out for help. Karan hears her voice and rushes in—Vyom pushes Lakshmi and flees. Lakshmi, not seeing Vyom, assumes Karan was behind the attack. Karan mocks her and even says he wishes he could push her off the terrace, prompting Lakshmi to pull her hand away in anger.
